In Florida, boy's high school baseball is one of the most celebrated sports in the state. Hundreds of high school athletes participate every year in hopes of one day making the big leagues, or even just playing at the collegiate level. One player that has scouts talking is Rudolph Lavecchia. This prospect has been performing very well lately for his high school team. It is looking very likely that he'll star on a collegiate team some day. Until then, Florida 6A baseball is feeling the presence of Rudolph Lavecchia.

Cypress Bay High School in South Florida had a great year in 2009. Much of that success had to do with the heroics of Rudolph lavecchia. While the right-handed outfielder stands just below six feet, he packs a ton of power. Scouts love the fact that he covers a lot of distance in the outfield. In fact, he runs a 60-yard dash in just 7.40 seconds. Rudolph Lavecchia also has an incredibly lean build, but experts suggest he could fill out even more at the next level. With strong and quick hands, as well as a patient approach at the place, Lavecchia is a consistent line-drive hitter that gets the barrel to the ball. Using an incredibly level plane, his swing is known locally as one of the best around.

He went 3 for 4 with a few great at-bats. Constantly working the pitcher, Lavecchia had a very timely RBI. Rudolph didn't stop there - he managed to get on base and score a run himself.

With Rudolph Lavecchia's senior year off to a great start in 2010, pundits are excited about the potential of Cypress Bay High School. So far, he has a .333 batting average, with five runs scored and seven runs batted in. His slugging percentage, found by taking the amount of bases covered and dividing them by the amount of at-bats, was an astounding .476.

It is no mistake that this young prospect is on his way towards collegiate baseball. There is a lot of talent in Florida, but this 6A prospect is one of the best. With a 5.1 second 40-yard dash, stealing bases and making plays in the outfield is one of his strongest points. Expect to hear the name Rudolph Lavecchia for years to come.

How did I get elected to shop for baseball and softball bats? I'm the last one to know anything about that. My husband is in the military and was recently deployed. That meant that I was in charge of getting the softball baseball equipment this season. I was going to get a crash course. I should have known they would say the computer. Those kids can't stay off the internet. We fight about it all the time. It is a good thing sometimes though because that is how we talk to their dad. Anyway, we went o line to find softball baseball equipment. We spent hours. I think my kids are obsessed.

First we tackled baseball softball bats. There were a lot of those. My son wanted the baseball softball bats made out of carbon fiber. They were a little too expensive for our current budget. Neither child wanted the wood baseball softball bats. I thought softball bats had to be made out of wood, but my daughter said no. My son said that she should get wood softball bats because she's a girl. After about a half hour of arguing, we finally got back to looking at the baseball softball bats. They both got metal baseball softball bats. Of course, we had to refer to my daughter's as a softball bat. It made both of them happy for some reason. Sometimes I don't understand my own kids.

Next in out softball baseball equipment quest was batting gloves. I let my daughter go first. She needed softball batting gloves. I wanted them to be of good quality. Softball batting gloves are supposed to protect the player's hand and I didn't want my little girl to get blisters. She hates when I call her that. My son needed batting gloves baseball. He needed his to have good grip. He was becoming quite the hitter, so he had to have quality batting gloves baseball. I didn't want him to blame the gloves I bought if he went into a hitting slump.

Finally, I thought, we were done. My son went off to play with his friends. My daughter stayed on the computer. She was still looking at the softball baseball equipment, specifically the softball bats. I ended up getting her two softball bats since her brother had a few bats of his own. We also got some softballs. I didn't realize that it made a difference that she practiced with softballs. Her dad had always dealt with that. I decided that I would get those softballs and I would practice with her. I hope my son wouldn't get jealous about the two softball bats, but I figured I would just tell him that the second one was mine because I was practicing too.
