Top Baseball Cleats Best Type of Cleats for Ultimate?
Next week I will start the Ultimate Frisbee team. It will be my first time buying cleats. I am not sure whether to go with football, soccer, or baseball cleats. I need something with enough cushioning since I will be jumping up and down a lot. I will also be running around on mostly wet grass. I would prefer something that could help me to not injure myself (like sprain my ankle)
And on top of all that I can only afford a maximum of around $60.
Please answer if you also play Ultimate!
Thank you so much!
Sorry to pull the Masters card but I disagree with both of the last accounts.
Soccer cleats are made for Soccer. Soccer players need the low toe and loose "slipper" on top of spikes to keep touch on the ball.
Ultimate Cleats need to have lateral stability in the sole and upper, a tough upper for protection of the toes and instep, a stiff heel cup for support when cutting and the appropriate spikes for the ground you play on. Ultimate cleats need to be light , yes, but not at the expense of support. Some of us own molded and turfs. You want to keep all of this in mind as you talk to your local sports store.
I wear Lacrosse cleats. Nike speed LAX mids...60-80 dollars and two others I know wear them as well. Try them on and cut on the rug in the store.
Some wear Nike landsharks.. Too thin soled and heavy uppered for me but some love them.
As for Baseball cleats. As lonhg as they are not metal, there is no problem.
You will find that there is very little difference between design of Football and Lacrosse cleats so wear what fits and will not fall apart. Ultimate requires nimble legs and feet make it so.
